HUTSPOT

Ingredients
1 ½ kilo (approx. 3 ½ pounds) potatoes
1 kilo (approx. 2 1/4 pounds) carrots
500 grams (approx. 1 pound) onions
80 grams (approx. 3 ounces) butter or margarine
salt and pepper to taste

smoked sausage
mayonnaise
pickles

Instructions
1. Clean carrots and peel onions and dice. Place in bottom of large pan.
2. Peel potatoes and cut into large chunks. Place on top of the carrots and onions.
3. Add water to pan until potatoes are just covered.
4. Boil until all the vegetables are tender. Pour off all the water.
5. Add the butter/margarine and salt and pepper and mash until everything is mixed and fine.

Tip:
Spoon a serving onto each plate into a volcano shape.
Pour gravy into the crater so that it just pours over the edges of the volcano.

Serve with smoked sausage, some mayonnaise and a the pickle of your choice.
