BABI PANGANG (Chinese Pork Dish) *)Ingredients1 lb lean boneless pork chops 1 - 2 Tbsp butter or margarine (half butter/margarine and half olive oil is also a good option) 2 tsp Conimex Djahé 1 tsp crushed garlic 1 tsp onion powder 3 Tbsp Conimex Ketjap Manis salt & pepper to taste juice of ½ lemon Instructions 1. Combine dry spices and then mix with the ketjap and lemon juice. 2. Cut pork into ½ inch thick strips. 3. Marinate pork in spice mixture for at least half an hour. If you have more time don't be afraid to marinate longer as this just improves the taste. 4. Heat butter. Add pork strips and fry golden brown. 5. Once pork is browned add any left-over marinade and allow to simmer until meat is done. You can always add a little water during the simmering process to prevent the meat from cooking dry. *) Serve with Babi Pangang Sauce, and white rice. See Babi Pangang Sauce recipe under Sauces. |
